Generally discussing, a
cross-over wire is designed by treating ("crossing over") the order
of the cables inside so that it can link two computer systems directly. A
cross-over wire looks almost exactly like a frequent Ethernet wire (a "straight-through"
cable), so create sure you have a cross-over wire before following these
actions.
Before buying a cross-over wire,
check your system adaptor. Some more recent system plugs instantly "cross
over" when they identify that they are linked directly to another system
adaptor using a frequent Ethernet wire.
To link two computer systems with
a cross-over cable
This works best if both computer
systems are operating this edition of Windows.
Plug each end of the cross-over
wire into a system slot on the back of each computer.
On one of the computer systems
that is operating this edition of Windows, do the following:
Open Network and Discussing
Middle by simply clicking the Begin key Image of the Begin key, simply clicking
Control Board, simply clicking Network and Internet, and then simply clicking
Network and Discussing Middle.
In the system map at the top of
Network and Discussing Middle, double-click the Unknown network symbol. (If
you have more than one system, this symbol will be marked Several systems.)
If system development and
computer file sharing are converted off, in Network, simply choose the
Information bar containing the following message: "Network development and
computer file sharing are converted off. Network computer systems and gadgets are
not noticeable. Click to change...," and then just click Convert on system
development and computer file sharing.
Manager authorization required.
In the Network development and
computer file sharing discussion box, choose one of the following options:
No, create the system that I am
linked with a private network
Yes, switch on system development
and computer file sharing for all public networks
There are 8 steps for connection:-
1) Verify that you have a crossover
Ethernet cable.
2) Plug each end of the Ethernet cable into an Ethernet network port on each computer to connect the computers together with the cable.
3) Go to any one of your computers, and click on the "Start" menu.
4) Go to Control Panel.
5) Select "Network and Sharing Center.
6) Select and open the icon labeled "Unidentified network" from the network map at the top of the Network and Sharing Center window.
7) Simply click on the message that prompts you to change the system development and computer file discussing settings, then click on the option that reads, "Turn on system development and computer file discussing."
